Journey Through India Exhibition
The North LIght Gallery is proud to be collaborating with Manasamitra - an eclectic and versatile artistic company based in West Yorkshire.
Immerse yourself in music, dance and art that transports you to beautiful, vibrant India, steeped in colour, culture and history.
This exhibition features a wide variety of Indian art works including traditional palm leaf paintings and works from British-asian emerging artists of today, including Anjum Dar, Kamaljeet Ajimal, Shameela Hussain and Vidula Shukla.
The gallery opens to the public on Friday 20th February and runs until Saturday 28th March. The gallery is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from 10.00am - 4.00pm.
Accompanying this exhibition will be a concert on Saturday 28th February leading us through the literary heritage of India. It will be an evening of Sanskrit poetry and ancient shokla (rhymed poetic verses) from the 6th century to the present day, accompanied by live Indian classical music, dance and song.
The performance will begin at 6.00pm and tickets will be priced at £5.00 and are available on the door.
