Beverley-Anne Little - New works at the North Light Gallery
An artist of considerable strength and intellect, Beverley-Anne Little has spent the past 30 years carrying out a systematic investigation into the inter-relationship of complex organic forms. Her expressive drawings and extraordinary paintings make up a rich, extensive body of work, encompassing three decades of influence and experience.
Thematic elements that have found a place at some stage in the evolution of Little’s paintings include man and woman, maternity and the isolation of woman. Indeed, Little’s recent work has been dominated by themes connected with maternity: religious images and the idealisation of maternity; the bio-morphic feminine experience of childbirth; the confrontation and venerability of self and the impersonal mechanistic aspect of life.
The gallery is open for viewing on Fridays and Saturdays from 11am - 3.30pm. Other viewings available by appointment with the artist. Please call the gallery for details.
