Artists in Mind Exhibition
Arts and mental health charity AIM (Artists in Mind) is to mount a special exhibition at North Light Gallery, Huddersfield, as part of HOST06. The exhibition will feature work by a remarkable group of artists who all use their creativity to benefit their health and wellbeing. Based in studios at Turnbridge Mill and Bates Mill, the 11 artists display an impressive range of styles and techniques, producing work of a very high standard that demonstrates the transformative power of the creative process.
AIM co-ordinator Richard Turner said: “The artists in this exhibition are very special. These artists tell a story of the power of creativity to overcome ill health. They offer the wider community art works that can be beautiful, inspiring, disturbing and humorous, and can challenge all of us to critically examine what it means to suffer mental illness. The exhibition will also feature a celebration of the work of AIM artist Neil Holdsworth, who is sadly missed since he died in October.
